Gaidukevich about attempts to disrupt the referendum

Western centres that are constantly striving to shake up the situation in Belarus stand behind the attempts to disrupt the referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution – as stated by Oleg Gaidukevich, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives at the National Assembly, during his talk with 1st National Channel of Belarusian Radio

“[Behind the information fakes about the referendum] is the radical opposition. But this is just a tool, they themselves are not able to do something, to make a decision, to fight; they do not have their own opinion. Western centres are behind this, and they are constantly trying to stir up the situation in our country and in Russia. Therefore, we knew that there would be attempts to disrupt the referendum. Special services talked about this 6-12 months ago. This is not about the fact that they [the fugitives] are worried about the fate of Belarus. They want to plunge the country into chaos in any way, so that everything blazes here,” stressed Oleg Gaidukevich.

The expert emphasised that all this is connected with the events that are taking place around the Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic.

“These are all interconnected things. There is only one goal: to plunge the regions of the post-Soviet space, and then the whole of Europe, into war. <...> Over the past weeks, we have been pushed towards war so that Belarus and Russia succumb to a provocation. The masks have been torn off, no one hides their goals and intentions,” stated Oleg Gaidukevich.
