The Unimedia portal, with reference to representatives of Forta Fermierilor, informed that farmers plan to install agricultural machinery on key transport routes in Moldova. Thirteen sites have already been prepared for the campaign in various regions of the country, and several more producer groups may join the protests additionally.
It is clarified that one of the reasons for farmers' dissatisfaction is a possible adjustment of tax policy in the industry. Forta Fermierilor accused the authorities of preparing an increase in the VAT rate for the agricultural sector from October 1st.
In addition, agricultural producers are demanding the introduction of direct payments per hectare, full reimbursement of excise taxes on diesel fuel, and the preservation of current tax conditions.
