Expert: Washington wants to provoke Beijing to repeat Ukrainian scenario
The United States wants China to launch a pre-emptive strike against Taiwan and start a fratricidal war – as noted by the Head of the Expert Council of the Russian-Chinese Friendship, Peace and Development Committee, an expert in China and writer, Yuri Tavrovsky, in his talk with the Soloviev Live TV channel
Speaking about the main intrigue of 2024, the expert noted, “The main intrigue is what will happen between China and America. Taiwan itself is not very important in the big global scenario, but it has now turned into Beijing's main foreign policy corn, which the US is pressing to provoke China to repeat the Ukrainian scenario. The United States wants Beijing to launch a pre-emptive strike on Taiwan and start a fratricidal war. It is about the same as what is happening in Ukraine today.”
Mr. Tavrovsky also recalled when relations between the United States and China began to deteriorate over Taiwan, “Americans have been pursuing a policy of containing China with the help of Taiwan since about 2009, when [44th US President Barack] Obama visited Beijing, where he invited Beijing to rule the world together. China refused. Then the so-called turn to the East in politics was adopted, but the situation was really aggravated by [the 45th President of the United States Donald] Trump, when he started the trade war in 2018, and then the big Hong Kong provocation. The Taiwanese card was also played, and accelerated military supplies began. Do you remember [former Speaker of the House of Representatives] Nancy Pelosi came [to Taiwan in August 2022]? It was a very strong provocation, because the third person in the American state came to Taipei, which went beyond the framework of the US-Chinese agreements.”
