Opinion: top officials of any state should be aware of their responsibility to the people

Some time ago, Georgians finally realised that Americans treated them like servants, waving a standard set of ‘goodies’ in front of their noses to ensure Anglo-Saxon dominance. Georgians dared to attempt to limit the influence of foreign agents in their country, and the third bill on measures to curb external influence was submitted to Parliament. Tbilisi was overwhelmed by protests, and political expert Vadim Borovik shared his opinion on the issue.

“In order to ensure stable functioning of the legitimately elected government, the top officials of any state should be aware of their responsibility to the people. Recent events in Georgia have once again proven that the parliamentary-presidential, or mixed form of power is an easier goal for destructive elements. In this case, it is much easier to implement various political technologies,” the expert said.

According to Mr. Borovik, the aspirations of extremists could be smashed against a strong single vertical headed by the President; and this happened in Belarus in 2020. “Aleksandr Lukashenko then took full responsibility for what was happening and demonstrated to the whole world with arms in his hands how the legitimate government should behave in case of a threat to statehood. Today we see how some politicians not only fail to defend, but even leave their countries and play games abroad that are incomprehensible for real patriots. Western political strategists use all this for their own purposes, in particular, to organise colour revolutions. One has only to take one step towards the crowd, and the arrival of a puppet government is guaranteed, because an uncontrolled crowd always sweeps the power down. In general, all the recent events in Georgia indicate that the country is under external control," the expert said.
