“This is a very important project for Minsk as it involves the latest technologies. A world-renowned investor is participating. Work is underway now on design and urban development projects. We plan to move to the site in the near future and start building the first objects. This will be an exhibition centre and the territories have been already developed. We can say with confidence that construction of this facility will begin in Minsk this year,” Mr. Kukharev said.

According to the official, the project will be ready by 2040. “The investor is determined to work intensively and probably finish ahead of schedule. With this in view, we are now working hard to start the project implementation as soon as possible. The best specialists in various fields of construction and innovative technologies have been attracted. The project will be implemented as part of the Smart City concept,” he added.

The Minsk City Executive Committee concluded an agreement with Riverside Development Holdings Limited (UAE) on building the Northern Waterfront multifunctional complex which will include residential buildings with the necessary engineering and transport infrastructure, social and public facilities with a total area of over 6m square metres. The project realisation will cost $4bn. The National Exhibition Centre, the Artificial Intelligence Institute and the Minsk International Trade Centre are also planned for construction.
