Eurasia on path to new geopolitical and economic order: Baku forum ready to discuss important topics

15th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum will be held in Baku on October 27th-28th – focusing on a wide range of topical issues in the field of economics and finance, healthcare, ecology, energy and technological innovations in Greater Eurasia united by a key theme: Eurasia on its Path to a New Geopolitical, Social and Economic Order. Transition to a New, Human-Centred Economy

The Conoscere Eurasia Association (Italy), the Roscongress Foundation, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum with support of Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry act as the event organisers.

As sb.by was informed, on the first day of the forum’s work, sessions devoted to global challenges in the energy sector, issues of energy security in Europe, the role of business in global geopolitics and creation of the economy of co-operation from the Atlantic to the Pacific will take place. In addition, a special session will be held on the opening day: Azerbaijan – a Major Hub for Eurasian Economic Co-operation and Its Prospects for Relations with the EU and EAEU. As part of it, experts will share views on the prospects and opportunities of Azerbaijan and its growing economy in the current situation.

On the final day of the forum, discussions will be devoted to the work of the financial sector in the face of new geopolitical challenges, development of transport and infrastructure as conditions for modernisation of the digital economy and territory development, as well as the industrial revolution and formation of the economy of the future in Greater Eurasia.

“The Eurasian Economic Forum is taking place at a very important time. Much attention is paid now to development of integration processes in Greater Eurasia, primarily in the trade and economic sphere. Azerbaijan is among such business activity development centres in Eurasia, and it is a strategic macro-region of this direction. I am convinced that participation of key speakers from different countries will make it possible to organise a high–quality discussion and formulate concrete solutions to achieve common goals for formation of Greater Eurasian Partnership," Anton Kobyakov, the Adviser to Russia’s President, said.

“I am very happy that, despite the global difficulties, the 15th Eurasian Economic Forum will be held – though not in Italian Verona, as usual, but in Baku,” the President of Conoscere Eurasia, Antonio Fallico, noted. “The capital of Azerbaijan was chosen since it is geographically located in the central part of the Eurasian space between the Atlantic and the Pacific, on the border of Europe and Asia, historically being a crossroads of trade routes. In our rapidly changing world, this space is becoming especially important for ensuring the entire planet's security and prosperity. Only by combining efforts, it is possible to build a new economy – with a person in its centre. In this regard, business diplomacy plays a key role; it can promote common interests of economic development, look for what brings together, rather than separates, as well as new points of contact and opportunities for co-operation and growth. I believe this year’s forum will help find realistic and constructive directions of socio-economic development in the interests of prosperity of all mankind.”

It is planned that Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Russia’s Minister of Economic Development Maksim Reshetnikov and Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov will take part in the 15th Verona Eurasian Economic Forum events.
