Earlier it was reported about Aleksandr Lukashenko’s meeting in Abu Dhabi with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Viktor Lukashenko was also present at the event.

“Each country has its own characteristics, including in building diplomatic co-operation. Of course, for the countries of the Arab world, this is a very special status, a special level of trust, when relations are supervised by someone from the leader’s family. Especially if it is son or eldest son, this initially sets a completely different nature of co-operation, raising the bar to the maximum,” the Press Secretary said. “Many years ago, starting to build these relations at the UAE initiative, our Head of State determined that his eldest son will oversee them. Moreover, at that time Viktor Lukashenko held the position of Assistant to the President for National Security. And this very much fit into the whole outline of building our relations.”

Afterwards, when Viktor Lukashenko switched to public work, there was a conversation about how to further build liaisons, but it was decided not to change anything.

“And there is no need to change anything here. Because, I repeat, this is a very important moment for this particular region: so that an absolutely trusted person oversees these relations. When the son of the Belarusian head of State comes to build relations, to talk quite specifically on any areas, primarily economic, they have complete confidence in what the Belarusian delegation says. This is the peculiarity of our collaboration with this region,” said Natalya Eismont.
