Durov: WhatsApp is unsafe
Telegram founder, entrepreneur Pavel Durov, said that hackers can get full access to everything on users' phones due to WhatsApp security problems, RIA Novosti reports
The businessman noted that WhatsApp had recently itself revealed a security problem of its messenger, and so hackers can get full access to everything that is on users' phones. According to Mr. Durov, to gain control over a mobile device, hackers only need to send a malicious video to the user or start a video call in the application.
He added that it is not the first time WhatsApp faces such a problem. “You can use any messaging app you like, but stay away from WhatsApp: it has been a surveillance tool for 13 years,” Mr. Durov warned.
