CSTO Secretary General: there is no talk that Armenia is withdrawing from CSTO
There is no talk of Armenia withdrawing from the CSTO – as stated by the organisation’s Secretary General, Imangali Tasmagambetov, following the results of the CSTO Summit in Minsk, BelTA reports
Mr. Tasmagambetov noted that the heads of state have today discussed topical issues of international and regional security and the main results of the organisation's activities during the intersessional period. Answering the question about Armenia's non-participation in the summit, he recalled that, on the eve of the event, Belarus’ President Aleksandr Lukashenko had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Armenia, and Nikol Pashinyan then informed that – due to certain circumstances – he would not be able to participate in the summit.
Meanwhile, there is no talk now that Armenia is withdrawing from the CSTO. The work of the Armenian side continues,” the Secretary General said.
