Belskaya: Belarus strongly condemns any actions leading to death of children and civilians

On March 2nd, Larysa Belskaya, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN Office in Geneva, spoke at the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council, BelTA reports

Larysa Belskaya emphasised that the UN Charter prohibits interfere in internal affairs of other states and establishes a strict ban on the use of force against political independence of other states, “However, in the case of Iran, we see a different line of reasoning: pressure and interference under the pretext of protecting human rights, years of sanctions and, finally, armed aggression. Belarus strongly condemns any actions that lead to the death of children and civilians and considers any use of force against the leadership of a sovereign state unacceptable. We are concerned that the situation is escalating, causing damage to friendly countries in the Gulf. We call for a rejection of escalation in favour of a political and diplomatic settlement.”
