Belavia Airline's fleet is planned to be expanded in 2026 – as informed by the company’s CEO, Igor Cherginets, in his talk with the First News TV channel today
“The US sanctions against Belavia have been fully lifted, but the European sanctions have not yet. We are currently in negotiations, primarily on expanding the airline's fleet. It will be increased in 2026,” Mr. Cherginets said.
Belavia CEO also noted that a meeting with Boeing’s heads had taken place recently, “We had friendly talks with Boeing’s Vice President, focusing on how our current co-operation is being restored. This greatly simplifies the maintenance of aircraft, the purchase of spare parts, and software. The financial issues, I mean payments in Dollars, are also being easier to made.”
According to Mr. Cherginets, the lifting of sanctions allows for more active work: i.e. flights to Almaty resumed on December 18th, and flights to Tel Aviv (Israel) are scheduled to begin on January 8th, 2026. In addition, Belavia will open long-haul flights to Utapao and Phuket (Thailand) early next year, and it plans to launch flights to Nha Trang (Vietnam) in the spring, and to Tunisia and Jordan in the spring or the summer.
