On behalf of Natalya Kochanova, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, and members of the Council of the Republic, the parliamentarian congratulated the Venezuelan Ambassador on the successful holding of the parliamentary and regional elections, emphasising the convincing and broad support of the Venezuelan people for the country’s development course under the leadership of President Nicolas Maduro. The Ambassador was asked to convey this message to Caracas.

In turn, Franklin Ramirez Araque thanked Belarus for the participation of the Belarusian delegation — including Andrei Krivonosov, a member of the Council of the Republic — in the observation of the elections, and for their objective assessments of the electoral process and its results.

The two sides confirmed their shared views on most issues on the international agenda and on current geopolitical processes. They noted the correctness of their respective approaches to defending sovereignty and national interests, rejecting interference in internal affairs and ensuring electoral sovereignty. They also expressed support for international efforts to build a fairer, more multipolar world.

During the open and frank dialogue, the parties confirmed their commitment to intensifying interparliamentary co-operation, including on international platforms. They also agreed to take steps to boost Belarusian-Venezuelan trade-economic ties, as well as to establish and develop comprehensive liaisons between the two countries’ regions.
