Belarus’ system of protection of women’s rights presented at Vietnamese forum

Belarus’ experience in promoting women’s rights is presented in Vietnam at an international forum themed Women, Cybersecurity and STEM, with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou making a report on this subject

According to the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Vietnam, the diplomat delivered a report in which he informed about the national system in place in our country to promote women’s rights. He noted the high rates of women’s involvement in the fields of science and technology, the steps being taken to stimulate the participation of young people in sci-tech and innovative activities (computer academies and a children’s technopark, a system of STEM centres, inclusive professional education, etc.). In his speech, Uladzimir Baravikou focused on Belarus’ commitment to the fulfilment of obligations to ensure gender equality and the priorities of our country’s work in this regard on international platforms.

It is reported that during the forum, the Ambassador also held talks with the leadership of the Vietnam Women’s Union on current and future co-operation with the Belarusian Women’s Union.

The event was organised by Vietnam Women’s Union with the participation of representatives of international organisations, the diplomatic corps accredited in Hanoi, as well as government and non-governmental structures of Vietnam (300+ participants in total). The forum participants discussed topical issues of ensuring women’s rights in modern conditions, promoting gender equality in the fields of science, technology and in the Internet space.
