Belarus’ FM met with President of Kazakhstan during official visit

The official visit of Belarus’ Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov to the Republic of Kazakhstan is taking place on April 14th-15th, and he has met today with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, sb.by reports with reference to Belarus’ Foreign Ministry

The parties exchanged views on the state and prospects of development of bilateral co-operation between Belarus and Kazakhstan, as well as on topical issues on the international agenda.

Maxim Ryzhenkov conveyed greetings and best wishes from President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko to the Kazakh leader. The Foreign Minister congratulated on the successful holding of the national referendum on the adoption of the new Constitution in the Republic of Kazakhstan and noted the high confidence of citizens in the policy pursued by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev aimed at modernising the country and strengthening statehood.

Maxim Ryzhenkov also held talks with Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev. The parties discussed in detail a wide range of issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda, as well as the schedule of upcoming mutual visits at high and top levels. Special attention was paid to the development of trade and economic liaisons. During the talks, the high level of co-operation between the foreign ministries of Belarus and Kazakhstan was noted. The Belarusian diplomat invited his Kazakh counterpart to pay an official visit to the Republic of Belarus. The foreign ministers reviewed the current situation on the world stage in detail, and separately focused on co-operation between Belarus and Kazakhstan within the framework of international organisations and integration associations, primarily the United Nations, the CIS, the SCO, and BRICS. The similarity of approaches to building dialogue on multilateral platforms was noted, and the mutual desire for a more just, multipolar world order was confirmed.

Belarus’ Foreign Minister has also visited the EXPO pavilion, now the Astana Hub international techno-park of IT startups, where he got acquainted with its digital infrastructure, the developments in the field of artificial intelligence and startup projects implemented in Kazakhstan. Maxim Ryzhenkov highly appreciated the prospects for bilateral co-operation in this area.
