Belarus, Egypt discussed development of sports co-operation
Belarus’ Sports and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk has met with Vice President of the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM) Sharif El Erian to share views on the prospects for the development of Belarusian-Egyptian liaisons in the sports field, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian sports department’s press service
Sharif El Erian noted that Egyptian athletes are ready to take part and compete with Belarusian and Russian athletes in any international competitions, including such formats as the BRICS Games and others. “The main task of sport is to unite all countries and peoples. And we must demonstrate these values by our example,” he stressed.
The sides expressed the willingness of the two countries for closer co-operation at all levels. In addition, special emphasis was placed on the exchange of experience in the field of modern pentathlon.
