Belarus’ Deputy PM at ceremony awarding leaders in field of quality: never slow down
Winners of the Government's Quality Achievement Award 2024 have been praised today at a solemn ceremony at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk
As Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich noted, high awards in the field of quality are traditionally bestowed upon for achieving significant results in the field of production and business process management, ensuring high quality of products and services, and introduction of progressive quality management methods. The competition has been held for the 26th time, demonstrating a broad involvement of various sectors of the economy and business in the process of improving the efficiency and quality of work.
"It is no coincidence that high-quality goods and services are a brand of Belarus and a calling card of Belarusian exports," Mr. Karankevich emphasised. “A lot is being done in our country to ensure that the best practices in achieving high-quality production are developed and perfected. These issues are always kept under the special control of the Head of State and the Government.”
The Deputy Prime Minister said that, based on the results of the competition, the title of laureate was bestowed upon 28 organisations, 12 received diplomas, and three – special awards. "I would like to note that fourteen out of 28 laureates have confirmed this high title again," he stressed. “Congratulations to all of you on your well-deserved awards. I would like to thank the heads of the winner-organisations and labour teams for their professionalism, hard work, dedication and high level of responsibility. Your high production performance and success are a significant contribution to the sustainable development of our country's economy, to strengthening its production and technological potential.”
Mr. Karankevich also addressed the winners, stating that their awards are a great merit and responsibility, and all others look up to them. “Therefore, it is important not to slow down the pace. All sectors of the economy face quite stressful tasks, and it is necessary today not only to produce high-quality products, but also to sell them profitably. To do this, you need to actively work in foreign markets, look for new partners, and offer competitive products and services,” he stated.
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that Belarusian products enjoy a steady demand even in the current difficult foreign economic conditions, “New markets are opening up for us in friendly countries, and it is important not to miss these opportunities and work for a better result.”
Well-deserved awards for achieving significant results in the field of quality and competitiveness of products, services or work performed, the introduction of innovative technologies and modern management methods have been awarded to 40 organisations, and three companies received special awards: ‘Leadership’, ‘Management Excellence’, and ‘Social Responsibility’.
The winners represent the machine-building, energy, transport, electrical engineering, food, light and chemical industries, as well as educational and sanatorium institutions. During the ceremony, the ‘Quality Leader’ badge was awarded to the heads of a number of enterprises that had achieved the highest results in the field of product (service) quality and system management. In addition, diplomas were handed to the winners of the Best Quality Manager and Best Graduate and Research Work of Students in Management and Quality Control contests of 2024. The event was accompanied by an exhibition of products from the winning companies.
The Government's Quality Achievement Award competition was first held in 1999. Since then, 264 of the best organisations have become its laureates, and some of them repeatedly.
