Belarus’ Defence Ministry: new stage of comprehensive combat readiness check of Armed Forces scheduled for May

A new stage of the comprehensive combat readiness check of the military units involved in responding to crisis situations will be held in May, the Defence Ministry reports

The inspection will be led by Major General Viktor Gulevich, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Defence Minister of Belarus. 

“Military units and subunits stationed in the Grodno, Brest and Minsk regions will be checked. In addition to units from the Air Force and Air Defence Forces, special operations forces of the Armed Forces, operational commands, missile forces and artillery, support units will also be involved. Practical training will make part of exercises and drills of different scale. Some of them will involve up to 1,000 draft-age persons,” the press service said.

The units will perform combat training tasks at several ranges and terrain areas. The inspection will also include the approbation of the formation of people's militia units and their performance of combat training tasks in the interests of maintaining martial law. In addition, the crews of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces will join the Russian Aerospace Forces to patrol Belarus’ airspace.
