Argentina believes joining BRICS requires more thorough analysis
Argentina’s new government believes that the issue of the country’s accession to BRICS requires a more thorough scrutiny – as stated by presidential administration spokesman Manuel Adorni, TASS reports
“We’re entering a stage of changes in the official foreign policy. Bearing this in mind, this issue requires a much more thorough analysis than the one conducted by the previous government, which was invited to join BRICS,” he said at a press conference.
Manuel Adorni confirmed that the President Javier Milei had officially notified BRICS members that his country would not join the group. The letters, sent to the leaders of Russia, China, Brazil and India, state that the new Argentine authorities ‘currently consider it inappropriate to join BRICS’.
