Andreichenko: Belarus views Nicaragua as significant political and economic partner in South America
The Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Vladimir Andreichenko, has met today with a Nicaraguan parliamentary delegation led by the First Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Nicaragua, Arling Patricia Alonso Gomez, that has arrived in Belarus for the first time in the framework of inter-parliamentary co-operation
Mr. Andreichenko informed the distinguished guests about the structure and work of the Belarusian Parliament and noted that this is the first time a Nicaraguan parliamentary delegation has come to Belarus, “We view this visit as evidence of serious intentions to bring our inter-parliamentary relations to a qualitatively new level. Belarusian deputies are ready for this. We will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries next May. Over this time, we have considered your country as a significant political and economic partner in South America. We highly appreciate the efforts of the leadership of your country, President Daniel Ortega personally, to stabilise the situation in Nicaragua, develop its economy, and improve the well-being of your people. All your achievements are very significant.”
The Chairman of the House of Representatives stressed, “We believe that today we enjoy a fairly good level of political interaction. There is an active dialogue between our foreign ministries, and the ministers are exchanging visits. We believe that deputies cannot stay away from solving current issues. Therefore, we consider the formation of a friendship group with the Republic of Belarus in the Nicaraguan Parliament as an important step. This is a fairly effective mechanism of interaction between parliamentarians.”
The visit will last until October 4th. Apart from meetings in the House of Representatives, Nicaraguan delegation will also negotiate with the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova, and visit the Belarusian State Museum of Great Patriotic War History.
On October 4th, the Nicaraguan delegation will visit the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Minsk Tractor Plant JSC, meet with the leadership of the Minsk City Executive Committee and take a walk through the historical part of the Belarusian capital.
