The AN-2 light aircraft flew 300m deep into the Belarusian territory and, after flying around the Urbana border checkpoint, returned to Latvia.

According to the State Border Committee, that was not the first case of violation of Belarus’ airspace. On December 4th, 2021, a Ukrainian helicopter flew into the territory of Belarus near the Novaya Rudnya checkpoint and, on January 24th, 2022, a Ukrainian remotely piloted aircraft violated the state border near the village of Khmelishche in the Malorita District.
