Russia’s FSB: US, Great Britain, Ukraine may be behind terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall

The Director of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB), Alexander Bortnikov, admitted that the United States, Great Britain and Ukraine may be responsible for the attack on Crocus City Hall, RIA Novosti reports

The head of Russia's FSB voiced this assumption in an interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin.

“We think so. In any case, we are now talking about the facts that we have. This is general information, so to speak, but there are already certain developments,” Alexander Bortnikov noted, answering the relevant question.

Alexander Bortnikov added that the alleged instigator has not yet been identified, but the FSB knows who recruited the perpetrators. Mr. Bortnikov noted that the terrorist attack was beneficial to Western intelligence agencies and Ukraine. This is how they wanted to shake up the situation in Russia and sow panic in society.

“We believe that the action was prepared both by radical Islamists themselves and, of course, by Western special services. Ukraine's special services are also directly related to this,” the head of Russia's FSB stated.

Alexander Bortnikov drew attention to the fact that the terrorists tried to escape to Ukraine, where they were expected and were going to be met ‘as heroes’. The Russian special services did everything to prevent this from happening.

Mr. Bortnikov said that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) should be recognised as a terrorist organisation. Moreover, the Head of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry’s General Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, has long been a legitimate target for Russian troops.

“Those who commit crimes against Russia and Russian citizens are a legitimate target,” the head of Russia's FSB stressed.

When asked why Budanov and his colleagues are ‘still alive’, Alexander Bortnikov said that ‘everything is ahead’
