Vitamin production planned at Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation

Construction of facilities to produce vitamins is planned on the basis of the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation – as announced by the Deputy Prime Minister, Leonid Zayats, during his visit to the company

Mr. Zayats assessed how the President's instructions are being implemented. He was informed on the current state of the project and its readiness for design capacity.

“An issue is now being resolved with our Chinese partners at the level of the President and the Government in order to create vitamin production facilities on the territory of the corporation. Only a few enterprises produce them around the world. Thanks to the agreements, we will receive equipment and technology, and this will play a role in strengthening our country’s position,” Mr. Zayats said.

In turn, the General Director of the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation, Daniil Uritsky, informed that vitamins B2, B12 and C are planned to be produced at this new facility. “The project is under the Chinese side’s consideration, and we hope these negotiations will end by summer 2023. Construction will then start. The cost of the project is estimated at $850m,” he explained.

In line with a Presidential decree, the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation is implementing a large-scale export-oriented and import-substituting investment project: Organisation of High-Tech Agro-Industrial Production of Full Cycle for 2016-2032. It aims to establish a facility for deep processing of grain by modern methods of biotechnology and production of essential amino acids, as well as its access to the local and export markets of highly productive and balanced compound feeds and premixes. The project is the largest and unique agro-industrial complex not only in Belarus, but also on the territory of the post-Soviet space.
