Turkish Interior Minister thanked Belarus’ Emergencies Ministry for assistance in rescuing earthquake victims

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Türkiye, Süleyman Soylu, sent a message of gratitude to Belarus’ Minister of Emergency Situations Vadim Sinyavsky for the assistance provided in the aftermath of the earthquake

The natural disaster destroyed entire Turkish neighborhoods. At the same time, Süleyman Soylu noted that the country had suffered great human losses.

“Tens of thousands of our compatriots died and more than one hundred and ten thousand were injured. Using all the possibilities of the state and with the colossal self-sacrifice of the Turkish people, we continue to make efforts to heal the wounds caused by such a large-scale catastrophe, the likes of which are rare in world history, in the near future.”

The Minister of Internal Affairs assured that the Turkish people would not forget Belarus’ assistance provided to them, “Our people will never forget the helping hand extended by Belarus, which provided all kinds of material and moral support, and most sincerely shared our bitterness in such difficult days, when the Turkish people were seized with sadness.”

Süleyman Soylu expressed gratitude to the Government of Belarus, personally to Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky, and to the Zubr rescuers who selflessly carried out search and rescue operations in the epicentre of the natural disaster and helped to eliminate its consequences. He also expressed gratitude to the respected Belarusian people, who did not stand aside in a difficult time for the people of Türkiye.
