President of Russia: EAEU open for all countries, mechanisms of its work beneficial to each participant
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the existing mechanism of the Eurasian Economic Union’s work is beneficial to all its members, and the organisation's doors are open to all countries, TASS reports
In his speech at the CIS summit, the Russian leader said, “The doors of the EAEU are always open. In my opinion, this is beneficial: it provides economic benefits, opens up more markets, and creates better conditions for co-operation. In the end, it's just useful.”
The President of Russia noted that the tools used within the EAEU make it possible to realise emerging opportunities even during periods ‘when the market situation is developing in an unusual way’.
Speaking about interaction within the CIS, the Russian leader recalled that previously it had not been possible to find mechanisms acceptable to all participants. That is why a group of countries embarked on deepening trade and economic ties through the creation of the EAEU. "If something can be done additionally within the framework of the CIS, then I agree," he added. “Economic co-operation is at the heart of solving all other problems.”
Vladimir Putin also appreciated the possibility of deepening integration in the CIS, noting that this should be sought if the participants in the process want to introduce additional interaction tools.
