MTZ to launch BELARUS tractor assembly plant in Myanmar

“The memorandum on the establishment of a facility to assemble Belarusian tractors in Myanmar was signed on March 6th by MTZ General Director Sergei Avramenko within the framework of the Belarusian-Myanmar Business Forum in Minsk," the source reported. “The project is planned to be implemented in the period from 2026 to 2029. In addition, a commercial contract was signed with Myanmar Empire for the supply of experimental batches of BELARUS 451, 522 and 820 tractors to Myanmar.”
Myanmar (formerly Burma) is a multinational state in Southeast Asia bordering India, Bangladesh, China, Laos, and Thailand.
The Belarusian-Myanmar Business Forum kicked off in Minsk on March 6th as part of a visit to Belarus by a delegation led by Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Administrative Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing. As noted by the distinguished guest, the strengthening of multisectoral co-operation between the two countries, mainly in the economy, is the purpose of his visit to the republic. Earlier, in February, representatives of Belarus met with Myanmar businessmen, where the parties outlined a number of areas for co-operation.
