Mirzoyan: Armenia has no plans to join NATO yet
Armenia currently has no intention of joining NATO – as stated by the country's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, TASS reports
“We’re already liaising with NATO, we’re participating in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan, we’re increasing our presence in Kosovo – this is a form of co-operation. If we are talking about our intention to join NATO, then it is ‘no’. Today this issue is not on Armenia’s agenda,” Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said an interview with the Todo Noticias portal.
“As far as the EU is concerned, I can say that Armenians have an aspiration for Europe, and I would like to quote what our PM [Nikol Pashinyan] recently said during his speech in the European Parliament. According to him, Armenia is ready to be closer to the EU as much as the EU considers it possible and wants to become closer to Armenia,” the country’s top diplomat noted.
