Minsk National Airport opened season of awesome excursions

Minsk National Airport has opened a season of excursions for those wishing to see the backstage of the air harbour’s work – as reported by the airport’s press service

“The participants of the excursions have an opportunity to learn the history of Minsk National Airport and details about the key peculiarities of the huge airline, while also familiarising much closer with the activities of various airport services,” the press service noted. “In particular, people may try themselves as a lifeguard by visiting the airport’s emergency rescue station, get acquainted with numerous special equipment, look at the takeoffs and landings of airliners from an excellent viewing angle and even touch the aircraft.”

The airport clarified that excursions are conducted in a group format (at least 5 people) from May to August on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the exception of official holidays. The duration of the tour is up to 3 hours, while the start time must be agreed in advance. The minimum age of the tour group participants is 10 years old.

Minsk National Airport is the main air gate of the Republic of Belarus. The airport provides a full range of airport services, having two artificial runways equipped with modern equipment, enabling it to accept aircraft of all types without restrictions in difficult weather conditions. To serve passengers, there is a customs control system based on the principle of ‘green’ and ‘red’ corridors, insurance companies that provide medical insurance for foreign citizens, and an airline baggage handling department. At the passenger’s service there are halls for business class flights, telephone and fax communication systems, the government sector and a hall for VIP passengers and delegations, bank branches, ATMs, restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and other various retail outlets, a comprehensive passenger information system, a mother and child room, hotel rooms, a gym, etc.
