Memory cherished

Alley of Heroes patriotic project presented in Gomel 

Signs with QR codes have been placed on the 41st stele of the Alley of Heroes which is a true city landmark. Upon clicking on them, access to the Gomel City Executive Committee’s website – which keeps information on the USSR Heroes and the Order of Glory holders immortalised in this place – becomes available.

The idea – initiated by the City Executive Committee – was later implemented by employees of the Gomel History Museum, specialists of the Regional Museum of Military Glory, philologists and technical workers.

The activity of these people deserves much respect, enabling our modern generation to re-analyse their own life. With this in mind, the key of the project is to cherish, be proud of our heritage, and keep memory of those who ensured a peaceful life for us – sometimes even at the cost of their own.
