Media: risk of epidemics in Gaza Strip rises

Reuters reported that the lack of clean water, food and shelter led to the risk of the spread of infectious diseases among the population of the Gaza Strip, TASS reports

A doctor and aid workers say the Gaza Strip has created an ‘ideal’ environment for disease to spread. It is currently unknown how severe the consequences will be.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), from November 29th to December 10th, the number of children under five who experienced symptoms of diseases associated with the gastrointestinal tract jumped by 66 percent to 59,895 cases. For the rest of the population of the enclave, this figure was 55 percent.
