Lukashenko visiting National Children’s Technopark on Knowledge Day

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, is visiting today the National Children’s Technopark in Minsk. The Head of State will congratulate students and teachers on Knowledge Day and the beginning of a new academic year. The President will be informed about the activities of the educational institution, the system of work with gifted youngsters and the prospects for the technopark’s development. Aleksandr Lukashenko will also get acquainted with educational labs and an exhibition of the best projects developed by graduates of the children’s technopark.

The National Children’s Technopark began its work on January 1st, 2021 in line with the Head of State’s decision. The purpose of this educational institution is to support gifted students, develop their interest in science and innovation. The competition here is three people per place on average. The study is organised according to the principle of educational sessions, within which pupils of grades 9-11 can study for free in one of 15 areas: from information and computer technology, robotics and biotechnology to automotive and energy of the future. During the activity of the technopark, students developed 1,229 individual and group projects of a research or inventive nature. Children who have succeeded in the implementation of sci-tech projects, on the recommendation of the supervisory board, will be able to enter a particular university on preferential terms in accordance with the profile of selected studies. This is the future scientific, technical, and industrial elite of our state. Meanwhile, this year, more than 20 graduates of the educational institution, in accordance with the new admission rules, were enrolled in the university without entrance examinations on the recommendation of the supervisory board of the technopark.
