Lukashenko visiting Minsk Automobile Plant today

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko is visiting Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) today, BelTA reports

The Head of State will visit the new building of the bus factory. The project envisages the production of innovative passenger vehicles new for the Belarusian market on a unified third-generation MAZ platform. The project will make it possible to increase MAZ’s passenger vehicles production capacity twofold, ensure the development of a new family of passenger vehicles using diesel fuel, natural gas, electric drive, etc., and increase export potential.

According to operational data, over 13,100 units of MAZ vehicles (including machine kits) were produced in 2024 – 12 percent more than a year earlier. Revenue from product sales increased by 16.6 percent. More than 67 percent of the total number of sold vehicles were exported.

In order to increase profitability and ensure competitiveness, MAZ JSC is constantly working to reduce production costs.

Aleksandr Lukashenko will also visit the territory of the MAZ-SPORTauto sports team. The latter was established in 2010 as a structural unit of MAZ, and since then, the guys have participated in 54 national and international races – becoming winners or prize holders in 34 of them.

The Head of state will be reported on the preparation of equipment, crews and living conditions of the team.
