Lukashenko: Victory Day symbolises cast-iron will of Belarusian people in the face of inhuman trials
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated his fellow countrymen on Victory Day
“This holiday has become a symbol of the invincible will of the Belarusian people in the face of inhuman trials, the embodiment of national resistance to Nazism in any of its guises,” the congratulatory message reads.
As noted by the Head of State, the memory of the heroic deed of the generation of winners acts as a great unifying force through time – serving as a life guide for us, those did not witness the horrors of war and the hardships of post-war reconstruction.
“I am sure that the truth of Victory and the energy of creation help Belarusians be stronger, provide reliable protection and prosperity of their native land. By strengthening its potential and authority with their labour victories and achievements, contemporaries are doing everything so that no one can ever break and destroy us,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The President added that Belarus is paying tribute these days to all those who laid their lives on the altar of Victory, crushed the fascist evil, gave humanity a peaceful future and hope that the most brutal war in its history will be the last one.
“We remember everyone who died in that war, who smashed the enemy at the front, fought against the latter as partisans and underground workers, who provided a reliable rear and worked selflessly, and we are grateful to those who carefully preserve and transmit the memory of the immortal feat today,” the Belarusian leader said.
“I wish our dear veterans good health, high spirits, longevity and well-being, as well as happiness, peace and kindness to every Belarusian family,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
