Lukashenko sent condolences to King of Thailand on Queen Sirikit’s passing

On October 25th, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko sent condolences to King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand on the death of Queen Sirikit, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The Belarusian leader stated that Belarus received this news with great pain and sorrow, “Thailand has lost the ‘mother of the nation’, who dedicated her life to her people, becoming an icon of mercy and unwavering devotion to her homeland. Thanks to her valuable contribution to the national and cultural identity of the country, the queen's name will forever be inscribed in world history," the condolence message reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed his condolences to all the queen's family and friends, as well as the people of Thailand.

Queen Sirikit, born on August 12th, 1932, passed away on Friday at the age of 94. She is revered in Thailand for her leadership qualities. When her husband, King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), took monastic vows in 1956, she officially became Queen Regent. The current King Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X) is her only son, and he has three sisters. Since 1976, Thailand has celebrated Mother's Day on her birthday.
