Lukashenko on relations with Slovenia: barriers and obstacles imposed from outside should remain in the past

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated the people of Slovenia on the national holiday: Statehood Day, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports

"Our peoples and countries are united not only from a historical point of view by Slavic roots and long-standing trade ties, but also by the results of bilateral co-operation in modern times," the congratulatory message reads.

As noted by the President, a legal basis of co-operation has been laid in more than three decades of relations between the two sovereign states. Representative offices of Slovenian companies and enterprises with Slovenian investments operate in Belarus, being an example of successful contacts in the field of culture and education.

"Against this background, any artificial barriers and obstacles imposed from the outside seem insignificant and they need to remain in the past," the Head of State believes.

According to the Belarusian side, universal values, friendship and mutual respect will become a reliable foundation for achieving a new level in the development of further partnership.

On behalf of all Belarusians, Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the people of Slovenia prosperity, peace and bright future.
