Lukashenko: electric vehicles need to be in focus

Machine builders should focus on the production of electric vehicles – as noted by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko while visiting the new building of the MAZ bus factory today

The Head of State paid special attention to the quality of the products and the need for continuous improvement. Also, according to him, it is necessary to focus on the production of electric vehicles.

“We need to focus on electric vehicles. We will discuss the construction of a second nuclear power plant with the President of Russia. There will be nothing without electricity, and this is relevant not only for the sphere of industry, but agriculture as well. There is never too much electricity. Everyone has gone crazy about these electric cars. We already have experience, we have electric vehicle charging stations, we have transport. There are already some developments on electric motors, and their production is another topic for the investment programme. We need to intensify work in this regard, it is necessary today,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
