Lukashenko congratulates Air Forces soldiers and veterans on their professional holiday

On August 21st, the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has sent greetings to soldiers and veterans of the Air Forces on the occasion of the Air Force Day – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service

“Today we are honouring the courageous people who, having connected their lives with the sky, dedicated it to the defence of the air borders of the Motherland. We glorify the heirs of the generation of victors who showed unprecedented valour and fortitude during the Great Patriotic War,” the congratulatory message reads.

According to the Belarusian leader, by continuing these heroic traditions, the staff of the aviation units honour the military heritage of the older generations, constantly and persistently improving their flying skills and fully ensuring the military security of the state. The Head of State also noted that the staff of the aviation units sacredly keeps the memory of the heroic deeds of their comrades – Heroes of Belarus Vladimir Karvat, Andrei Nichiporchik and Nikita Kukonenko – who already in our peaceful days sacrificed themselves, saving the lives of dozens of people.

“I am convinced that the Air Forces are the national pride of the Republic of Belarus. They will always be loyal to the people and will write many more glorious pages in the history of the Belarusian army,” added the Belarusian leader.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished them strong health, festive mood, and new successes both in the sky and on earth.
