Lukashenko congratulated UAE President and people on National Day

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the people of this country on National Day, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports

"The United Arab Emirates is now a successful, developed and peaceful state that occupies an influential position in the international arena," the congratulatory message reads. “The holding of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change has once again confirmed the increasing role of the Emirates in shaping the agenda on the most important global issues. It is hardly possible to overestimate your country's contribution to accelerating the process of economic transition to a new low-carbon, highly developed and sustainable economic model."

The Head of State stressed Belarus' full readiness to continue fruitful dialogue and active joint work both on climate issues and on the expansion of the range of bilateral projects and agreements.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also sent a congratulatory message to the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

"Thanks to the efforts undertaken by the leadership since the founding of the federation, the United Arab Emirates has become one of the most influential countries on the political and economic map of the world, as evidenced, among other things, by the holding of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Dubai," the Belarusian leader noted. "I express my firm confidence that the UAE will consistently continue the path of progress and prosperity, and the bilateral Belarusian-Emirati co-operation is strengthening and deepening for the benefit of our peoples."
