Lukashenko confident Russian Orel Region Governor’s visit to be bolstered by joint projects

A delegation from Russia’s Orel Region, headed by Governor Andrei Klychkov, is currently on a visit to Belarus, with President Aleksandr Lukashenko meeting today with the head of the Russian region at the Palace of Independence

Having warmly greeted the guest, the Head of State addressed him, “As you can see, the ideas of goodness and justice are in global demand more than ever before. Therefore, we have great prospects in this regard... This is your first visit. We are always happy to meet you. You are absolutely close to us. We will find ways to provide logistics...”

The Belarusian leader drew attention to the fact that in early March the Government appointed Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Yuri Shuleiko as new official responsible for co-operation with the Orel Region,

“He is an active, energetic person who can do a lot for any region in Russia, especially for the Orel Region. I’m convinced that as local leaders you will quickly find a common language. Your programme of stay is very rich, envisaging talks with the Government, visits to large Belarusian enterprises, and exchange of best practices. We don’t have any closed topics or enterprises for you. We’re ready to provide everything we are capable of for our dear Orel Region. We’re aware of your high development. We’re ready to learn and set up joint ventures and joint productions. We already boast experience of co-operation: an action plan for 2024-2026 has been signed for the implementation of the co-operative agreement between the Orel Region Government and the Gomel Regional Executive Committee. I’m sure that the results of your visit will be bolstered by specific joint projects. If you have signed an agreement with Gomel and will have a similar one with Brest, this does not mean that the governor responsible at the state level will not ensure interaction with the whole of Belarus. This is how it is done in our country.”
