Lukashenko: border guards always been example of impeccable, selfless service to country and people

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the command, as well as servicemen and veterans of the Brest Red Banner Border Group named after F. Dzerzhinsky on the 80th anniversary of its formation, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

“Border guards have always been an example of exemplary, selfless service to the country and people. Belarus remembers the heroic deed of the soldiers in green caps, who were the first to take on the enemy in June 1941, showing boundless fortitude and courage. In the post-war decades, reliably protecting the western borders of our Fatherland, the personnel of the 86th border detachment distinguished themselves in the fight against gangs, saboteurs and smugglers,” the congratulatory message reads.

The Head of State drew attention to the fact that in the current difficult, constantly changing situation, sacredly preserving and enhancing the traditions of the heroic generation of veterans, border guards – the new generation of independent Belarus – solve the most difficult tasks of protecting the state border at a high professional level, with dignity and honesty. They are doing everything possible to ensure that the life of Belarusians always remains peaceful and safe.

“I’m convinced that our borders are under your reliable protection and each of you, in any conditions, will fulfil your duty as a warrior and patriot to the nation to the end,” Aleksandr Lukashenko underlined.

The President wished all the personnel of the border group and the retired personnel who stood at its origins strong health, prosperity and new successes in operational activities for the benefit of Belarus, as well as peace, goodness and happiness to their families and friends.
