Lukashenko: Belarus, Bryansk Region should reach $1bn in trade turnover in 2024

Belarus and the Bryansk Region should reach $1bn in their level of trade turnover this year – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, at a meeting with the Governor of the Bryansk Region of the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Bogomaz

The Head of State emphasised, “The economy is the basis for solving current and possible future problems. As people used to say in Soviet times, the party, Komsomol and trade union work will be available, if the economy and production operate. This is relevant for the present days as well.”

The Belarusian leader recalled that, in 2020, the task was to raise the trade turnover between Belarus and the Bryansk Region to $1bn. Last year, the figure dropped to make $800m – due to various reasons. Aleksandr Lukashenko commented, “We are determined to restore this figure [$1bn] in 2024, and I think no one needs to be convinced that this billion is far from the limit. The implementation of major co-operative industrial projects is the main reserve.”

Actually, there are already successful examples: Belarusians machine-building flagships – Amkodor and Gomselmash – have established their own production facilities in the Bryansk Region.

“We are ready to further develop this experience, including the creation of other enterprises in the Bryansk Region for the manufacture of machinery, materials and equipment. We will be able to do everything that you like,” the President said.
