President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has arrived in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea for an official visit
The President’s jet No.1 landed at Pyongyang’s Sunan International Airport. DPRK First Deputy PM Kim Tok-hun and Belarus’ FM Maxim Ryzhenkov welcomed the Belarusian leader in a vivid ceremonial atmosphere. A young woman dressed in traditional attire presented the President with flowers as honour guards formed a line along the red carpet. Children waving Korean and Belarusian flags greeted Aleksandr Lukashenko. Along its route, a 21-motorcycle escort of honour accompanied the President’s motorcade to the venues for formal ceremonies.
The visit is set to culminate in talks between the two leaders, the Belarusian leader’s press service said earlier. Aleksandr Lukashenko and Kim Jong Un are expected to discuss the full spectrum of areas for advancing Belarus-DPRK relations, as well as to outline key areas of mutual interest and the most promising projects to pursue. The official visit by the President of Belarus aims to strengthen the legal framework in bilateral relations and promote dialogue between the countries.
