REFERENCE

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s state residence Kuksaroy (or Kuksaray) is named after Kuksaray, the palace of Amir Temur (Tamerlane) that has not survived to this day in the capital of his empire, Samarkand. From the Turkic language ‘Kuksaroy’ is translated as ‘Blue Palace’.

The Independence Monument is a 60m stele crowned by the bird of happiness Humo that symbolises peace, prosperity and freedom. The most important events of the 3000-year country’s history are reflected at the bottom and along the perimeter of the monument.
