Lukashenko appointed new Industry Minister

30 June, 16:39

On June 30th, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko appointed Andrei Kuznetsov Industry Minister, BelTA reports

Until now, Andrei Kuznetsov has served as Deputy Industry Minister.

The President sees Aleksandr Yefimov, who previously headed this ministry, as the CEO of one of the most important enterprises in Belarus, AMKODOR Holding, and approved the appropriate personnel decision.

“I would like to speak with you privately so that you don’t look at the bosses who could be willing to represent you here and so that you understand what I expect from you. Regarding your appointments, there have been numerous discussions and suggestions to which you have given your consent. I’m grateful for that,” the President said. “There are more problems in industry today than in any other sphere. There are objective reasons, although I don’t want to talk about this: it’s not war, so we need to work.”

The Head of State noted that at one time, Aleksandr Yefimov had already worked at AMKODOR. It was from there that he joined the Industry Ministry.

“To some extent, the situation that currently exists at AMKODOR was developing under your watch. That’s my point of view. Maybe I’m wrong. However, you have to fix the situation there. No one is going to command and control you there right now. This is almost a state-owned enterprise, and as the director of this company, you will make decisions and be responsible for them. No founders, no supervisory board chairs, or anyone else will manage you as they might have in the past,” the Head of State pointed out. “You know everything: you are a professional. The labour team is familiar to you. You know the situation much better than I do. So the cards are in your hands. Take action.”
