Lukashenko informed what he had seriously agreed upon with Putin

During today’s meeting on personnel issues, the President of Belarus has commented on a decision of some foreign companies to leave the market, stressing that the country will develop its own production independently, as well as in co-operation with Russian partners

In particular, the Head of State noted that he is aware of the problems of each region, and the appointees’ tasks are not simple. With this in view, the President gave a piece of advice, “It is a turning point now, and – let us be honest – some are coming, and some are leaving. They invested [into their production] – bringing technology and equipment, so this is a purely political point: they were told to leave, and they are leaving as a result. Goodbye! Meanwhile, it’s a question of whether we will return them back or not. President Putin and I have seriously agreed: leave if you want, but we will develop our own competencies and our own production independently. We will cope well.”

The Belarusian leader added that Moskvich car production has already been launched in Russia. Lada vehicles are being produced, and Volga cars will soon be manufactured. In turn, Belarus produces Geely vehicles.

“I am talking about cars that our citizens – not bosses – need. An Aurus car has been developed for bosses. It will soon be upgraded to become no worse than a Mercedes. As regards trucks, we have KAMAZ, MAZ – enough to satisfy the market. Production of tractors and agricultural machinery faces no problems, so if someone is leaving, then it’s up to them. No need to keep hold of anyone, but immediately take up this enterprise into your hands – not waiting until Golovchenko or Sergeyenko gives you some instructions there and changes the form of ownership. This will be your property from that moment,” the Head of State addressed those present.
