During a gift exchange ceremony with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez who was on an official visit to Belarus, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed his desire to meet with Cuban politician and statesman Raul Castro and visit the grave of Cuban revolutionary and former leader Fidel Castro together, BelTA reports

The footage of the gift exchange ceremony was shown by the Belarus 1 TV channel. A part of them was from Raul Castro.

"Thank you very much. I want to meet with Castro and visit Fidel with him," the President of Belarus said.

"He appreciates you very much," the Cuban leader emphasised in response.

Among the gifts presented by Aleksandr Lukashenko were chocolate and a set of Belarusian products.

Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez also brought traditional Cuban products to Minsk as a gift to the Belarusian Head of State. Among them were cigars originally packaged in a box shaped like a typical house of a Cuban farmer. "I know you do not smoke, but you can offer them to your friends," he said, presenting the gift.

"No, I will try," Aleksandr Lukashenko replied unexpectedly.

Traditional Cuban rum, which is also a bright brand of the country, was also presented to the Belarusian leader. "I know what Cuban rum is, because Miguel once gave me rum. It's a great drink!" Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

The President of Cuba also presented his Belarusian counterpart with Cuban shirts made specifically for the visit.
