Kornilov: we must and can change public opinion in the US, EU and UK in our favour

The opinion of ordinary Americans about military assistance to Ukraine has changed dramatically. Thus, the latest CNN poll showed that the majority of US citizens are opposed to the country’s Congress providing additional assistance to Kiev. Earlier, EU residents began to express loud dissatisfaction with the influx of Ukrainian migrants and the consequences of sanctions. It’s important to take advantage of the current situation, says political scientist, journalist and publicist Vladimir Kornilov in his talk with the ONT TV channel.

“Now is a favourable time to turn public opinion in our unfriendly countries to our advantage. Before the presidential elections take place in the US, Americans need to be helped to think about where taxpayers’ money is going, how multibillion-dollar tranches to Ukraine affect the standard of living in the US. The same applies to elections in Europe. It has long been known that the opinion of voters in the US and European countries is listened to exactly until the end of the election campaign. For example, Trump, keeping his finger on the pulse, has publicly stated that he will put an end to the war as soon as he comes to power. But is it worth the illusion? Let me remind you that it was not Obama who provided assistance to Ukraine with lethal weapons, but Trump. After the elections, American and European politicians will not care what the people think, they will forget about many of their promises.”

The expert underlined that it is a sin not to use protest actions in countries that help Ukraine with money and weapons to influence the public opinion of their citizens.

“Great Britain is shaken by the most massive strikes since the time of Margaret Thatcher. Doctors demand to raise their wages. Recently I watched a news program on SKY NEWS: a story about disgruntled workers in the medical industry was replaced by a message about what kind of financial assistance the UK is going to provide to Ukraine. The amount that the country’s healthcare system needs to meet the demands of the striking doctors and the amount of financial assistance to the Kiev regime are almost identical. Why not give British doctors the idea that the money they need is going to Ukraine? It is time for our diplomats to become less modest and, remembering the successful experience of their Soviet-style colleagues, to actively influence the minds and moods of the inhabitants of countries whose leaders are trying to harm us.”
