Kochanova: women in Belarus can realise any of their ideas and dreams

Development is impossible without women’s creative role and mission – as stated by Natalya Kochanova, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, at a solemn ceremony honouring the winners of Woman of the Year 2022 republican contest

“I have been taking part in this ceremony for many years, and I am always excited,” Ms. Kochanova shared her emotions. “This is because we meet here with like-minded women, with those who love our country and the Belarusian people, who appreciate everything that native Belarus has achieved over the years of its sovereignty and independence, and also with those who fully support the political course pursued by the President. He has repeatedly said that he values and treats women in a special way – and we feel this.”

According to the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, everything that is being done in the country is aimed at the benefit of a person, at the development of society and the state – ‘so that only peace and tranquillity reign at our homes, so that our women can realise everything they plan: give birth to children, educate and teach them, realise their professional opportunities’.

“Such women have gathered in this hall today,” Ms. Kochanova continued. “With their caring civic position, they are doing everything to preserve peace and tranquillity, so that our country develops. Please accept our deepest gratitude and words of appreciation for what you are doing for our country. This stands high.”
