Kochanova on From Heart’s Bottom campaign: older generation is example of perseverance, courage and dedication to Belarus

As part of the From Heart’s Bottom campaign, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, Natalya Kochanova, has visited today the elderly of the Svitanak Boarding House for War and Labour Veterans

Natalya Kochanova visited a workroom, where the elderly are engaged in creativity, also talked to them in person.

One of the residents, Yelena Avramovna, has been staying in Svitanak almost since its opening, and she even once greeted the President when he visited the boarding facility. The woman asked Ms. Kochanova to convey her gratitude to the Head of State for the From Heart’s Bottom campaign, “As ordinary people say, he is doing everything for the youth and the elderly. He does not forget anyone, so I am thankful to Aleksandr Grigorievich [Lukashenko] for everything he is doing. God grant him health, strength, and patience to endure that injustice: so much dirt has been poured out, and this trend sadly continues. Actually, people are to see for themselves who is who. Even in the best case scenario, there will never be such a President: such is given by God once in a lifetime.”

"It would be great if everyone is as wise as you are. You understand better than anyone else that there will be peace in the country with this President. Lies are being spread against him only because he is doing everything right.” Ms. Kochanova replied and then asked the woman of whether she is satisfied with her accommodation, whether the latter is of good quality. “Everything is fine, only good health is needed. There are always people here who will help, and medical care is available. There is sympathy here, and this is what everyone needs,” the pensioner answered.

In this regard, Ms. Kochanova recalled the words of the Head of State about the attentive attitude to the older generation, “We will not be like young people, but we will be like elderly people.”

After the conversation, Ms. Kochanova – as an honorary guest – took part in a festive concert organised for the elderly. She congratulated those residing in Svitanak on the New Year and Christmas holidays. “We are sincerely grateful to Aleksandr Grigorievich Lukashenko for this initiative, when we can come and meet with elderly people – so that to listen to them, so that they can hear us. We appreciate everything that was created by your minds and skilful hands. I always speak with pride about the representatives of our older generation. The older generation is an example of perseverance, courage and dedication to their country. No matter what, these people have never betrayed their country, though their life was sometimes difficult. Please accept my deepest gratitude.”
