Kochanova: Belarusians have always been peacemakers

Natalya Kochanova, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, took part in a meeting devoted to reconstruction of the Zhirovichi Monastery held at one of its already restored buildings

In her assessment of the prospects for further work, Ms. Kochanova noted that – despite the alarming news coming from other countries – the restoration of the monastery will continue as normal.

“I have come here after a meeting with our President. He clearly outlined the priorities for our work. A task was set: to live, work, raise children and fulfil all the goals we have. Of course, we all – and the Head of State – believe that everything possible must be done to ensure that peace and harmony prevail in all countries. We have always been peacemakers. Nevertheless, life is going on, and we should set and achieve our own goals. Preservation of our historical memory is among them,” Ms. Kochanova stressed.
