At the command posts of the North-Western Operational Command and Western Operational Command of Belarus’ Armed Forces, Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin received reports from officials on the operational situation during the Zapad-2025 exercise, sb.by report citing Belarus’ Defence Ministry
During the exercise, Belarusian and Russian military personnel are jointly fulfilling tasks, “The focus is on combating sabotage and reconnaissance groups, and illegal armed formations. Artillery units are inflicting fire damage on the reserves of the simulated enemy, hindering its advance. Headquarters of detachments and military units are actively using modern communication and control systems, ensuring co-ordination of subordinate forces and means in a rapidly changing situation,” Belarus’ Defence Ministry noted.
According to the defence authority, the Belarusian and Russian air forces and air defence troops are closely co-operating, ensuring reliable support for troops formations against air attacks. Pilots are involved in missions to intercept targets, conduct aerial reconnaissance and provide fire support to ground units.
“The command post of the regional troop formation exercises centralised control over the of the regional troops formation, ensuring the effective execution of the tasks set,” Belarus’ Defence Ministry added.
